Adelphi bestaat voor het selecteren van de allerbeste whisky’s. De criteria waarop Adelphi de vaten selecteert zijn zeldzaamheid en volwassenheid, maar vooral smaak. Adelphi whisky’s zijn zowel uitzonderlijk als gewild – deze zeer speciale vaten zijn zo zeldzaam dat Adelphi gemiddeld slechts 4% accepteert van wat er wordt aangeboden. Elk afzonderlijk vat whisky rijpt de inhoud zeer verschillend en geeft zijn eigen karakter aan de whisky mee. Als gevolg daarvan zullen er nooit twee Adelphi’s hetzelfde zijn.

Adelphi bottelt rechtstreeks uit het vat, zonder bij te kleuren of te chill-filteren. Hierdoor houdt de whisky zijn ware en onvervalste smaak, totdat deze het glas in gaat – elke botteling is beperkt tot 100 – 700 flessen, afhankelijk van de grootte van het vat. Het selecteren van alleen de allerbeste vaten stelt Adelphi in staat om een brede selectie van stijlen en regio’s aan te bieden dankzij ons panel van professionele ‘neuzen’. De voorzitter van dit panel is Charles MacLean, wereldwijd bekend Schotse whisky kenner en Master of the Quaich.

ALEX BRUCE, DESCENDANT OF THE FATHER OF MODERN WHISKY MAKING, JOINS ADELPHI AND BEGINS TO ESTABLISH THE ADELPHI NAME AMONG WHISKY CONNOISSEURS AROUND THE WORLD AS A PURVEYOR OF RARE AND EXCEPTIONAL SINGLE CASKS.

THE SECOND BOTTLING IS RELEASED, THE ARDNAMURCHAN 2017 AD. AGAIN, THERE WERE 2500 BOTTLES AND WAS WELL RECEIVED AROUND THE WORLD. EDINBURGH BASED COMPANY, NEVIS DESIGNS WINS PACKAGING OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR BOTTLE DESIGN.

IN MAY, THE DISTILLERY DOUBLED ITS PRODUCTION TO JUST OVER 400,000 L.P.A.

WE ARE UTILISING A NEW PLATFORM THAT MAKES USE OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY (MOST USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH CRYPTO-CURRENCIES SUCH AS BITCOIN) TO PROVIDE A SECURE AND IMMUTABLE MODEL OF THE FULL SUPPLY CHAIN THAT DESCRIBES THE MANUFACTURE OF OUR WHISKY.

We track each and every finished bottle of whisky and see each bottle as a unique asset and, through the use of QR barcodes and other smartphone scannable technology, deliver individual data to our customers that interacts with our bottles. This allows the story of your bottle of whisky to be told directly to you, because we can prove every step along the manufacturing process (thanks to the blockchain!), allowing you to discover the provenance of your bottle of whisky right back to its origin, building trust in our process and strengthening your knowledge of your whisky.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?

Our friends at Sage City break down the whole production process into events. Each event contains all the data that we need to describe a given step. That data is sent up to our platform and stored securely on the blockchain. One of the properties in the “Distributed Ledger Technology” that underpins the blockchain (and allows cryptocurrencies to work) is that once data has been accepted and recorded on the blockchain it is entirely immutable and creates an unchanging record. Arc-net leverages this property as a “trust layer” creating an unbreakable link with the physical product and the digital data that describes its creation.

We are delighted to have adopted this technology for use in a relatively traditional industry. It not only allows us to prove authenticity and provenance, but also to operate a fully transparent, and all-encompassing manufacture and stock system from field to bottle.
